Abstract
Minnesota is a state that is known for strong health outcomes, a robust economy, and progressive values. However, this is not the full story. This study explores the experiences of professional Black women who moved to Minnesota as adults. Using a phenomenological approach, women shared how they navigated and made sense of their experiences as Black women in the overwhelmingly White state. Implications and recommendations are shared for human resource development professionals and leaders in Minnesota and similar states.
