Abstract

Description

series of policy talks featuring candidates for statewide elective office. The purpose of the series was to provide an opportunity for each candidate to discuss their substantive concerns about critical challenges facing Minnesota and the nation, and to offer recommendations on appropriate policy responses. Mike Hatch's presentation is the third in a series of policy talks hosted by the Center for the Study of Politics and Governance featuring candidates for statewide elective office. Mike Hatch is the DFL-endorsed candidate for Governor. Mike Hatch was first elected Minnesota Attorney General in 1998 and is now completing his second term. He has 20 years of private practice business law experience, and served as commissioner of commerce from 1983 to 1989 under Governor Rudy Perpich. Hatch also served as state chair of the DFL Party from 1980 to 1983. He earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota Duluth and a law degree from the University of Minnesota.
