Abstract

In 2025, NIH, MITRE, and the Data Curation Network (DCN) hosted a series of three data curation workshops on the NIH campus in Bethesda, Maryland. The three 1.5-day workshops were designed to build expertise in data curation fundamentals and specialized areas, including code and simulations-based research, geospatial data, and scientific images. Each workshop brought together instructors and attendees from a geographically and institutionally diverse set of organizations, primarily research-intensive universities, but also including teaching-focused institutions, liberal arts colleges, national laboratories, libraries, and government agencies. In this report, we provide an overview of all 3 workshops, the attendee demographics, feedback, and clear impact statements on how attendees will use the information learned in their positions.
