Abstract

Latino adolescents are one of the fastest growing ethnic groups in the U.S.; by the year 2020, one in five adolescents will be Latino. Thus, it is increasingly important to protect the health and well-being of this population. Parent communication is one important protective factor for healthy youth development, yet limited information is available to understand how parent-adolescent communication is related to risky health behaviors among Latino youth.
