Description

Poster for Ty Flanagan's 2024 Summer UROP. The project involved surveying fruiting fungi in Itasca State Park as to document fungi of interest. The genus Heterobasidion was of special interest due to its lack of current appearance in Minnesota, yet two collections of this fungus come from Itasca State Park in the 1970s. Surveying involved direct collection as well as spore traps. As many collected samples were identified via DNA sequencing as possible within the time frame of the project. Collections and observations are all publicly posted on INaturalist.
