Abstract

This document is a proceedings of the three plenary sessions (the opening session and two luncheons) of the CTS Ninth Annual Transportation Research Conference. The conference was held on May 19-20, 1998, at the Doubletree Park Place in Minneapolis. The opening session was moderated by Gerard McCullough and had a keynote by Beth Z Palubinsky titled "Access to Jobs and Transportation: Early Lessons," followed by a panel with Susan Haigh, John Powell, and Brian Lamb. The May 19 luncheon was "The Costs of Sprawl-and Alternative Forms Growth" presented by Anthony Downs. The May 20 luncheon was "Designing Vehicles in Changing Times" by Connie Gutowski.
