Abstract
Ambassador Hansen has years of experience in the Middle East from his time with the Foreign Ministry of Norway. He will examine the foreign policy issues facing the international community in the Middle East, from the struggle over reaching a peace agreement between the Taliban and the US to ending the conflicts in Yemen and Syria. The challenges also include the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, the question of terrorist group strength, proxy wars in the region and tensions with Iran.
