Abstract

What could cause populations to dwindle in a highly-adaptable and geographically widespread species? Mercy Melo from the Pennsylvania Game Commission will discuss her research on the American kestrel and the different drivers that may be influencing their continental population decline. Learn how urbanization, decreased prey abundance, competition with Cooper's hawks, environmental contaminants, and seasonal challenges may be impacting this vibrant falcon species across North America.
