Abstract

Validation of the cellular identity of fluorescently labeled cells in the olfactory bulb of an NG2-CreERT–tdTomato mouse model. This transgenic mouse line uses a tamoxifen-inducible genetic labeling system to permanently mark NG2 glial cells and their descendants with a red fluorescent reporter, allowing for lineage tracing of this glial population. The study sought to confirm that cells were being correctly being marked by the model through immunohistochemical analysis using canonical markers for NG2 glia and astrocytes.
