Abstract
This project was completed as part of a year-long partnership between the City of Rosemount and the University of Minnesota’s Resilient Communities Project (http://www.rcp.umn.edu). A thriving and resilient local economy is key to community development. The goal of this project was to create an asset-based strategic plan for the City of Rosemount’s future sustainable development. In collaboration with city project lead Kim Lindquist, Community Development Director for the City of Rosemount, students in PA 5512: Workforce and Economic Development conducted workforce and economic base analyses of Rosemount, held community focus groups, conducted an online survey of community members, and crafted a strategic plan with recommendations for development to build off of the City’s current assets. A final report and presentation from the project are available.
