The Ariel served as the first student newspaper at the University of Minnesota running from December 1, 1877 to April 28, 1900. It originally ran as an irregular monthly paper and then published as a weekly. The Ariel documents campus life and provides significant insight into the activities of the University and the Twin Cities area.
The cumulative card index was prepared by University Archives staff members, and the indexing encompasses the publication's entire run. Digitized issues of the Ariel are available in Hathi Trust.
