The Communication Sciences and Disorders Program is dedicated to teaching students how to apply academic and research concepts to the realities of clinical practice. Students choose UMD's Communication Sciences and Disorders Program because it offers the courses, clinical experiences, and the individualized instruction needed to help people with communication disorders.

Historical note: Previously this department was called the Department of Allied Clinical Health (1984 or earlier through spring 1993). It became the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders in fall 1993.
