The UMD Center for Drug Education and Information was established in June 1970 (or possibly 1971; sources differ) and was initially staffed by Dr. Thomas Boman (director), Gregory Kruse (coordinator of instruction), and Marcus Desmonde (coordinator of curriculum construction and counseling). The Center offered courses and provided information around drug issues in Duluth.
The end date of the Center is unknown. UMD campus directories list a Drug Education Program as part of the College of Education and later the College of Education and Human Service Professions. This program was likely affiliated with the Center for Drug Education and Information. The 1984-85 directory is the last directory that includes that listing.
