Date: 10/15/10 [[BR]] Location: Tri Valley [[BR]] Aircraft: Odin & Loki [[BR]] Pilot: Garrison Hoe, Arion Mangio [[BR]] Flights: 5 total; 4 Loki, 1 Odin [[BR]] [source:/trunk/FlightData/2010_10_15 Link to Flight Data] Garrison, Arion, Rohit, and myself went to Tri Valley with both Ultra Sticks. Weather was perfect; sunny, light east winds. The test objectives were: 1. Test revised MRAC controller with FDI filter. 2. Test FDI filter with revised fault: aileron instead of flap, fault of 5 deg right roll. 3. Collect additional data on the iSensor for noise analysis. 4. Get additional PID data on both airframes. We completed 5 flights and met all objectives; notes as follows for each flight number: Loki Flight 09: New avionics, FDI filter, baseline controller. Fault injection was at 5 sec until 12 sec. Roll doublet command from 2 sec to 8 sec. Didn't visually notice effect of the fault. Loki Flight 10: New avionics, FDI filter, LQR controller. Sames as Loki Flight 09, but with LQR. Was able to notice roll effect of fault injection. Loki Flight 11: New avionics, FDI filter, LQR+MRAC controller. MRAC was stable this time (previous had aileron sign error). Fault effect noticeable. In this case, the aileron fault remained on after being injected at 5 sec. Loki Flight 12: New avionics, LQR controller, multi-sine PID inputs. Repeat of previous PID inputs. 3rd run remained fairly level, and should be a good data set. Odin Flight 22: MicroNav, LQR controller, multi-sine PID: Repeat of PID inputs for comparison to results with new avionics. Actions & notes: 1. Tri Valley members said they will be removing the runway starting 10/23, so next week is probably the last week we can fly there. Hangars are still being removed from Jensen. We may still be able to fly there once the hangars are gone. Back to FlightReports
