Re:       WHRE Announcement

After careful consideration of the College's programmatic needs, the Senior Management Team has 
decided to close the Department of Work and Human Resource Education (WHRE) and to transfer its 
programs to other departments within the University. The human resource development and adult 
education programs will be aligned with the Department of Educational Policy and Administration. 
Decisions about the remaining WHRE programs will be made after additional evaluation. These changes 
will become effective July 1, 2009.

All students who are already enrolled in WHRE will graduate from their current programs. Students who 
are incoming during fall 2008 and spring 2009 will also remain in the programs to which they were 
admitted.

The College and the University value the rich history and the outstanding contributions of the Department 
of Work and Human Resource Education, its faculty, and its staff.

The Senior Management Team will share any additional information as it becomes available.
