Date of data collection (single date, range, approximate date): 2021-09-01 to 2022-05-15 5. Geographic location of data collection (where was data collected?): Characterization Facility at University of Minnesota, Twin Cities 6. Information about funding sources that supported the collection of the data: Office of Naval Research 7. Overview of the data (abstract): Backscattered electron micrographs provide information about the thickness of the thermally grown oxide (TGO) thickness and the alloy-TGO interface roughness caused by oxidation of FeCrAlY alloy for 100 h at 1025 ºC in dry air upon exposure to corrosive deposits comprising mixed oxides, mixed sulfates, or calcium sulfate. Micrographs were processed to provide tabulated values for TGO thickness as a function of location across the sample cross section, and changes in the TGO-alloy interface position. The purpose of release is to provide access to detailed data related to alloy hot corrosion process. It is released now to correspond with the publication of the analyzed results in a related paper. -------------------------- SHARING/ACCESS INFORMATION -------------------------- 1. Relationship between files: -------------------------- METHODOLOGICAL INFORMATION -------------------------- 1. Description of methods used for collection/generation of data: The dataset was generated by developing a master file with merged Scanning Electron Microscope - Back Scattered Electron (SEM-BSE) Detector Images of the specimen interface. The merged file was edited using Adobe Photoshop Software and analyzed using a custom made MATLAB code. 2. Methods for processing the data: The raw SEM - BSE images were analyzed using a custom made MATLAB code (using pixel-based distance estimation) to generate the interface roughness corresponding to the location on the specimen. 3.
