Relationship between files: Files refer to different time periods, and contain different species, as noted above. However, they are all part of the same collection. -------------------------- METHODOLOGICAL INFORMATION -------------------------- 1. Description of methods used for collection/generation of data: Each new plant acquired for testing or use as a parent in breeding was usually given an accession number. Accession numbers started with the letter N, regardless of species, followed by the last two digits of the year and then the sequential number of the accession as it was acquired within that year. The provenance of origin or sender was usually recorded as well as the type and condition of propation material that was received. 2. People involved with data collection: As stated above, since the data was collected over large periods of time, it is unclear who authored each page/dataset. Leadership at the Horticultural Research Center/Fruit Breeding Farm has been documented in a few publications, including: Snyder, Leon C. 1983.
