No -------------------------- METHODOLOGICAL INFORMATION -------------------------- 1. Description of methods used for collection/generation of data: Data were collected from the Universal Chalcidoidea database (Noyes 2017) and from a standard literature search. Data extracted from the database and the literature were as follows: parasitoid oviposition site and host species attacked. Using the information on host species attacked we calculated 3 indices of host range (Nsp, STD and VarSTD), which describe the number of host species attacked, the relatedness of the host species, and the variation (evenness) of the relatedness of host species. We conducted ancestral state reconstructions for all variables using a composite phylogeny and we carried out phylogenetically controlled GLMs to assess the effect of oviposition site on host range. Boulton, R.A & Heimpel, G.E. In Press. Mind the Gap: the evolution of oviposition site and specialisation in the parasitoid superfamily Chalcidoidea. Biological Journal of the Linnean Society 2. Methods for processing the data: N/A 3. Instrument- or software-specific information needed to interpret the data: Ancestral state reconstructions were carried out in Mesquite, Phylocom was used to generate measures of phylogenetic signal, we used the packages 'caper' and 'phytools' in R Studio to run pgls (phylogenetic general least squares) models for comparative analysis. ----------------------------------------- DATA-SPECIFIC INFORMATION FOR: MTGdata_forrepository_3_2_2018.xlsx ----------------------------------------- 1.
