Overview of the data (abstract): The data includes three datasets; (1) EngDatF20.csv contains forward acceleration, braking, left cornering, right cornering along with up and down accelerations, (2) SpdDatD20.csv contains the distance spent in Speeding for all drivers and (3) TipsDatF20.csv contains Trips distances in both duration (minutes) and length (km). This data was used to calculate a "Driving Score" in a project to apply gamification to encourage young drivers to adopt eco-driving habits. Description of methods used for collection/generation of data: A telematics device was plugged into the on-board diagnostic (OBD II) port of the drivers' personal vehicle. The device recorded engine data from the card and uploaded to a website. 2. Methods for processing the data: Engine data, speeding and trip distances were downloaded from Geotab's website. GPS data were removed. 3. Instrument- or software-specific information needed to interpret the data: The telematics device collected data from the car which was uploaded to geotab's website.
