The published paper maps included in the geologic atlas can be viewed as pdf versions of the plates (see directory c-18_pdfs): pl1_db.pdf = data-base map pl2_bg.pdf = bedrock geology map pl3_sg.pdf = Quaternary (surficial) geology map pl4_qstrat.pdf = cross sections pl5_bt_dt_snd.pdf = bedrock topography, depth to bedrock and 3d sand distribution models pl6_me.pdf = bedrock geology mineral endowment map C19.zip--[432Mb] Arcmap 9.3 mxd and shapefiles and Arc Grids, illustrating the geology of Carlton County. The c19carltoncga.mxd will not run under older versions of Arcmap, but the shapefiles can be loaded into any other version. Also included in the C-20.zip is a c19crltoncga.pmf file. This file is for the ESRI program ArcReader which can be downloaded freely from the esri.com web site. This will allow anyone to view the project data and maps, the main limitation is that independent data cannot be added to the ArcReader project. The pdf maps should be viewed using Acrobat Reader 5.0 or higher for best results. If necessary, download the files in binary, not ASCII. If you would like paper copies of the geologic plates; contact the MGS Map Sales office at 612-627-4780, ex. 238 and specify publication "County Atlas Series C- 19, part A", or County geologic atlas of Carlton County.
