Filename: retractions_data_clean.csv Short description: This CSV file contains all data gathered on observations of how retracted publications are represented across bibliographic platforms. 2. Relationship between files: There is only one file. 3. Additional related data collected that was not included in the current data package: None. 4. Are there multiple versions of the dataset? No -------------------------- METHODOLOGICAL INFORMATION -------------------------- 1. Description of methods used for collection/generation of data: The sample was identified based on searches of the Retraction Watch database. We identified 144 retracted articles in the broad field of mental health literature. We then conducted known item searches for these items across the following resources: (1) publisher sites, (2) MEDLINE via Ovid, (3) PsycINFO via Ovid, (4) EBSCO databases, (5) Scopus, (6) Web of Science, and (7) PubMed. Google Forms were used to capture information. Both researchers independently gathered data for a small sample of articles before convening to finalize the form and decision-making process. Each researcher then collected data on 72 retracted articles. 2. Methods for processing the data: Data gathered in Google Forms was exported as a spreadsheet and saved as a CSV file. Frequencies were generated using R version 3.4.2. The Google Form was developed to include standardized responses, eliminating the need to standardize responses after collection. 3. Instrument- or software-specific information needed to interpret the data: n/a 4. Standards and calibration information, if appropriate: n/a 5. Environmental/experimental conditions: n/a 6. Describe any quality-assurance procedures performed on the data: n/a 7. People involved with sample collection, processing, analysis and/or submission: Both researchers were involved in the collection, analysis and submission of the data. ----------------------------------------- DATA-SPECIFIC INFORMATION FOR: retractions_data_clean.csv ----------------------------------------- 1.
