Basic noise reduction has been done as described in the paper. Each file is named by the sample number and the section of the map. 1. File List A. Relationship between files: 3. Additional related data collected that was not included in the current data package: 4. Are there multiple versions of the dataset? yes/no No -------------------------- METHODOLOGICAL INFORMATION -------------------------- 1. Description of methods used for collection/generation of data: Orientation data were collected for all sections using a scanning electron microscope equipped with electron-backscattered diffraction system. Raw orientation data were processed with HKL Channel5 software, including removal of single mis-indexed points, assigning un-indexed points the average orientation of neighboring grains, and removal of systematic mis-indexed points. All files included in this data set can be imported by HKL Channel5 or the MTEX toolbox in MATLAB. 2. Methods for processing the data: 3. Instrument- or software-specific information needed to interpret the data: HKL channel5 software 4. Standards and calibration information, if appropriate: 5. Environmental/experimental conditions: These samples were experimentally deformed in the lab at the U. The excel file ‘Experiment conditions summary.xlsx’ contains the experimental conditions of these samples. 6. Describe any quality-assurance procedures performed on the data: N/A 7.
